Walking For Fred
Walking For Fred On the Summer Solstice this year, a group here in lovely Charlottesville, Virginia went up to the Appalachian Trail for a 13 mile Alzheimer's Awareness walk. Our Group raised over $5,000 and had an amazing, welcome break from the hot weather. At the end of our hike we were greeted by a young throughiker who was wearing a big smile, boots, a pack, and nothing else! We later learned that the solstice is National Hiking Naked Day. Who Knew? While cognitive decline can tear memories away...I expect that one will remain. | ![]() |
