Video Calling
Seeing and hearing your loved one is often the best way to connect and the most satisfying for the user. Our app only allows calls to and from your approved list of friends and family and the tablet can auto-answer so that the end user does not have to touch a single control to accept.
Photo Gallery
Admins can load up to 1,000 photos into the gallery and order them so that the most relevant photos appear first. The user selects a single button from the Home Screen and then the images curated for them appear in the order desired. Users can scroll through the images or Admins can have them auto-play for an even easier experience.
Listen to Music
Admins create play lists for their loved ones which auto-play when selected. End users can listen to hours of music created specifically for them with only 2 interactions. The app supports both free and paid Spotify lists.
Watch Curated Videos
Admins can link any content from YouTube, both public and private videos, and set the order of the content for the end user. The user can access the videos in 2 clicks and videos auto-play to minimize the number of required interactions.
Read Curated Web Pages
Admins can link PDF or web content for their loved ones. Frequently curated content includes favorite magazines, local newspaper articles, weather links and Wikipedia pages.
Medications and Reminders
Admins create recurring medication reminders or one-off events which pop up as reminders. Medication reminders display images of each prescribed pill to ensure compliance and the senior or an assistant can verify that they took the medication with one touch. Remote users access reports confirming compliance. Admins can control if the reminders play a tone.

Our Story
Papa Fred
One Button Call was founded as Fred Grist grew increasingly isolated in the memory care wing of an assisted living facility. As his Alzheimer's progressed, his ability to use a computer, tablet or phone diminished so his family created One Button Call to make communication far more simple.
Fred had family nearby, but two of his three kids were living outside of his state and several grandkids were living hours away.
Fred loves Italian Opera and missed having an easy way to listen to and watch Pavarotti! Early attempts to create a simple interface were only partially successful so the design was updated to only include features that folks dealing with cognitive decline could use while also building in the admin tools that allowed remote loved ones to easily curate content for him.
FAQs
What hardware or device do I need?
Any 3rd Generation or newer iPad (2018) or any Android tablet with OS 5 (Lollipop) or newer will work fine. Microsoft tablets with Windows 11+ will also work. In all cases, we highly recommend that you set the tablet into "kiosk mode" which prevents the user from opening any apps other than One Button Call.
This is very easy to setup (fewer than 5 minutes) and detailed instructions are found here.
If you choose to stop using our software, you can easily reverse the tablet so that it can be used normally. This is a key benefit of our service over other vendors...you control the hardware.
For admins, you can use any device with a modern browser. Phones, Tablets, Laptops and Desktop computers will work fine.
How do I connect to the internet?
You simply establish the internet connection normally before putting the device in kiosk mode. If your tablet uses cellular connectivity, this too will work fine. Like most apps, One Button Call does require a connection to operate properly.
You must have an internet connection of the app to work.
What are all of the costs associated with using the app?
Things we expect for you to have in place:
1) A modern Apple, Android or Microsoft tablet. Anything made in the past 5 years should work fine.
2) A connection to the Internet and/or a cellular connection. Most of our users typically interact with their tablet in their homes or in their assisted living facility and use only wi-fi. Users who travel frequently or who have no internet access available at their primary residence should consider a cellular connection.
Things One Button Call charges for:
1) Monthly or yearly fee for the app.
2) Nothing else
Limitations on the app?
1) Limited to 10 friends / family in the admin area
2) Limit of 1,000 photos
3) Nothing else. You are not charged extra for adding content, frequent calls etc.
How are you different from other providers?
1) Other providers only sell their software if you also purchase their hardware (typically $300+). A BIG downside to this is that when your loved one can no longer use the tablet, the hardware is unusable as a "normal" device. With One Button Call, you bring your own hardware and can restore it to a "normal" tablet whenever you like.
2) We offer a user experience truly designed for folks struggling to use tech. Our competitors often stack on memory games, additional apps, and other "features" that can make the experience hard to use. If Papa Fred (the inspiration for founding One Button Call) could have easily used all of those features on his own, we would have never needed to build speciality software. Our product is intended to be used by this who have the most difficult time with tech and we believe that only including the essential items allows for a far better experience.
3) Affordability. Our fees deliver a more usable product for less money.
